Bringing University Education Home to West Pokot

For decades, West Pokot County was a closed district, and its young people paid the price in lost opportunity. The closure of the University of Nairobi Kapenguria Extra Mural Center (2016) and the Kisii University Satellite Campus (2020) interrupted the studies of many learners, slowed careers, and cost livelihoods across West Pokot, Trans Nzoia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, Turkana, Uasin Gishu, and into South Sudan and Uganda.

The University of Nairobi is proposing to change that. Kapenguria University College will be a permanent, public, quality-assured home for higher learning in the region.
